TVR Griffith 500 SE. This is one of the last Special Edition (SE) Griffith 500s - specifically No 46 of the last 100. But this one is rarer than all the others. This is the ONLY TVR to be painted in the stunning Str8six colour Royal Burgundy!

This car was originally painted in Rosso Pearl but the very good finish was marred by a couple of stone chips and had faded over the car's lifetime. An expert tried to match it but pronounced it to be Mission Impossible in this instance. So we decided to take the opportunity to create a truly stunning Griffith. The photos give an impression but it has to be seen in real life to be fully appreciated.

The black and crimson theme continues onto the doors, but here the new owner introduced Str8six's trademark straked leather centres. He treated the centre console to a revised central recess with new pillar box red gear stick and handbrake gaiters. The Griff SE has Cerbera style seats which were re-trimmed to incorporate Ferrari Daytona styling.

You will notice that the interior successfully features 3 leather colours, with all the new leather being from Andrew Muirhead's Inglestone range - in black or butterscotch. Red stitching is used throughout the interior. The carpets are black Wilton bound in crimson. The roof is in black mohair. The use of 3 leather colours - including butterscotch (as used in the cockpit of the Vulcan) - was brave, but we believe it works well - especially when seen for real.

Lift the bonnet and you will find a very clean, (albeit not garage Queen), 5.0 litre engine. You will also note the reservoir for the power assisted steering and the fact that the chassis has been Dinitrol protected - since 2008. Needless to say, the complete chassis is in very good condition - as is every item of the car's technical specification. The wheels are OE TVR SE 16 specification and are unmarked. They are fitted with Toyo tyres all round; indeed, the fronts are brand new Proxes T1Ss. The car has a full complement of stamped service cards in its (purple, of course!) SE Handbook cover.

First registered in May 2002, this car has now had 6 owners in 16 years - but it has covered, on average, under 1100 miles per year! It is not fitted with air conditioning but then, very few Griffiths left the factory with that optional extra.

Those words were in the original advert. Since then the most recent owner has specified a full ACT Cherry Bomb large bore exhaust system. That is as good as it gets! But unfortunately, the latest owner has never had the opportunity to enjoy the results of all his planning. He has fallen ill and has therefore commissioned Str8six to sell the car on his behalf.

This unique TVR will be supplied with Str8six's renowned "All the 12s" handover specification - i.e. Full 12,000 miles service revisited, 12 months MOT and TAX, along with our renowned 12 months/12,000 miles FULL WEAR and TEAR WARRANTY covering PARTS and LABOUR on the whole car. It does of course also have an inbuilt 12 volt Accumate trickle charger.

Overall mileage - 19,200. Advert Date: 2018-04-05
